Southern Eighths Farm is located on the North and South Carolina border in the “Heart of the Carolinas!" Chesterfield, South Carolina, is centrally located between Charlotte, Southern Pines, Camden and Florence.
The beautiful 250-acre, state-of-the-art facility is built to be the ultimate, Eventing, equestrian training center; supporting both the long and short format of the sport. It boasts of every amenity a horseman could want - whether a seasoned competitor/trianer or first time equestrian. Everyone is welcome.
The facilities at Southern Eighths were designed by FEI course designer Tremaine Cooper and offer all of the assets necessary to produce confident, educated and well-rounded horses and riders of any discipline. This farm has been designed with one goal in mind, to give you all the tools you will need to improve your riding skills and communication with your horse.
- Multiple Dressage/flatwork areas on different types of footing and ground to help improve compulsory movement skills
- Beautiful Cross-Country courses: Training through Beginner Novice (Currently Closed for Re-Seeding - We Hope to Reopen it by Mid-August!)

- Lovely Derby field with ditches, banks for cross-training and competing
- Turf steeplechase tracks – One oval and one figure 8 with minute markers specifically designed to aid in working on riding at speed and perfecting your pace
- Miles of groomed ‘roads & tracks’ trails for warming up and cooling down your horse
- Gymnastic schooling area with caveletti and grids for tuning up the experienced horses and schooling the young ones
- Introductory field with simple logs to get everyone started
